General Repair information
With over 38 years of repairing and modifying amplifiers I have worked on all the major brands including:
- Sound City
If your amplifier is not functioning correctly then please get in touch either by email or phone, we will then arrange an appointment for your amplifier to be inspected to assest what work needs carrying out. You will then be given an estimate for the repair.
Labour is charged at £20 per hour.
Following your repair your amplifier will be PAT tested and a PAT test label applied
Part of owning an amplifier (especially valve amplifiers) is keeping up to the maintenance of the amp. As your amplifier ages the high voltage and changes in temperature can cause problems, this can result in faulty resistors, dry joints, dried up capacitors and blown valves.
A service will greatly improve both the function and sound of your amplifier, prolonging its life and value as the years go by.
A Rosewell service will include:
- Examination of all components
- All controls and sockets cleaned
- Valve bases cleaned
- Bias Check
- Chassis Clean
- PAT Testing and label applied
If any components are found to be faulty during a service then an estmate will be given on the costs of the replacement part and the job entailed to replace
Services start from as little as £28.50
Vintage Amplification Policy
Over the years I have heard many horror stories of valuable vintage amplifiers, having been taken for repair to be returned with many of the valuable components changed for cheap replacements when they did not require changing in the first place. This is a practice Rosewell amplification would never engage in and any parts removed from the amplifier will be returned to the customer upon collection of the amplifier. Where a part is found to be obselete and cannot be sourced we will advise on a suitable equivilant before replacing.
Vintage Amplification Restoration
Over the years I have restored many vintage amplifers which have been used/abused/damaged. Please get in touch if you would like to have your vintage amplifier brought back to life!
